2.8.6 Handling of Animals 
2.8.6.1 General 
Handling of animals is required in accordance with operating airline procedures and Live Animals Regulations (LAR). The acceptance of pets is also subject to the respective country regulations. There are two methods of carriage: 
1. • Pets carried in the passenger cabin in an approved container (PETC). 
2. • Pets carried in the cargo compartment in an approved container (AVIH) 
 
a. Pets carried in the passenger cabin in an approved container (PETC) 
Except for guide dogs for blind passengers, Small pets (cat, dog, bird) weighing 8 kgs or less may be carried in the cabin. If the total weight of the cage overpass 8 kg, need to be purchased a seat for the pet(s). Only one cage is allowed per row. Prior company approval must have been obtained. Pet’s cage/container bag: 
1. Such approval will stipulate that the pet shall be carried in suitable leak-proof container or bag size 55x40x25 cm and must stay in the container bag, on the floor, for the duration of the flight. 
2. The passenger, under whose care the pet travels, must be in possession of all documents required by the authorities at destination. 
3. The commander and handling staff shall ensure that no animals is carried in the cabin which impede an emergency evacuation. 
4. Carriage of rodents is only permitted by prior permission of Onur Air

Dangerous dog breeds such as mongrel dogs, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentineo,

Pets carried in the cargo compartment (AVIH). 
Reservation Must be Confirmed by Onur Air Before Acceptance 
Animals Vivant in Hold (AVIH), that is live animals, may be transported as checked baggage in the aircraft hold in accordance with IATA Live Animal Regulations and operating airline procedures. Ensure that the flight crew are informed of AVIH loading to ensure enough heat and airflow are maintained. Domestic animals such as dogs, cats, and if applicable, other defined animal species by the operating airline may be carried as AVIH. 
Note: Domestic animals of unusual size or wild animals, reptiles and rodents must be transported as cargo. Reservation Must be Confirmed by Onur air.
 
Handling agents must pay attention that; 
1. a. Only rigid containers with a secure door are acceptable. 
2. b. A water container must be provided in each container. 
3. c. Only one animal per container, unless they are used to cohabiting, in which case the following applies: 
 
1. a maximum of two adult animals of comparable size up to 14 kg. each, that are compatible, may be shipped in the same container. Animals over that weight must travel individually. 
2. animals up to six months old from the same litter, up to 14 kg. each, up to a maximum quantity of three, may be shipped in the same container/compartment. 
1. d. The container must be large enough to permit the animal to stand in a natural position, turn around and lie down. 
2. e. Animals should be loaded last and unloaded first. 
3. f. Minimize time on the ramp to protect animals from wind, rain, noise and extreme temperatures. 
4. g. Keep other luggage at least 150 mm (6 inches) away from the container sides to maximize ventilation. 
5. h. Natural predators should not be positioned next to each other. 
6. i. Do not load animals in the same compartment with dry ice. 
7. j. Live animals must not be loaded in close proximity to incompatible loads that have negative effects on their welfare (including human remains). 
8. k. Exercise caution with containers that have wheels, ensuring the container cannot roll during loading. 
9. l. Containers must be securely attached to the compartment to prevent shifting, using tie-down straps. 
10. m. Take the deplaning animals immediately to the terminal for claim by their owners. 
11. n. Never use the baggage chute to deliver an animal. If the animal cannot be immediately claimed, take the animal to a climate controlled waiting room. 
12. o. The flight crew and station should be informed of AVIH loading to ensure sufficient heat and airflow are maintained.

14. 2.8.6.2 Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals 
15. Service animals are individually trained animals to perform functions to assist their owners, e.g. guide dogs. Emotional support animals are usually untrained animals and mainly provide support, well-being and comfort to their owners through companionship, non-judgmental positive regard and affection. Subject to operating airline procedures and local regulations it may be possible to accept defined animals species as service animals and emotional support animals in the passenger cabin.
